Nepal

“What’s going on here?” In order to answer Silverman’s question, I need to recall everything we learned in this course. Everything is happening in this country, Nepal—children, women, low-caste are oppressed, not receiving enough opportunity not only in educational aspect but also in other aspects in life. There is a girl who once went to school by the age of 6, but was forced to quit and work for family due to extreme poverty. She, her mother and brother can only make 3 dollars per day…how can three people make living out of 3 dollars? Some children who go to Riverside school talked about their dreams as “I want to be a pilot”, “I want to be a social worker”, “I want to be a nurse”…but they are special, they are fortunate to have dreams. Children who engaged in child labor, who live in street, cannot have such dreams.
