Homologeous: having the same relation, relative position, or structure (from Oxford Dictionary of English)

Popkewitz argues that Dewey and Vygozky's philosophies were shaped by similar historical contexts and as a result shared some aspects in common.

They developed ideas during the period of "modernization . . ., which involved the industrialization, urbanization and ratinoalization that we now associate with modernity and the modern Western welfare states." Because the modernization was achieved through the political movement, it was achieved under the authority of new state institutions.

I thought this was interesting because I'm studying about the history of Japan around the turn of 20th century. At that time, Japan was also undergoing modernization and the government was trying to establish "modernized people" by giving people standards. Makiguchi also lived during such period. So Makiguchi might be sharing similar historical contexts with Vygotsky and Dewey.
