Spady,
As mentioned in the previous post, we were considerring looking into the methodology section. However, after further inquiry, we realized that Makiguchi's plan of the last 8 volumes on specific teaching methods is unsubstanstial. We were also planning on translating volume four (the chapter on methodology), but this part has already been translated (incorrectly) by Bethel and our work would simply be to create a better version.
Now, we have decided to translate a part of Makiguchi's work on community studies. This work can actually be viewed as an expression of his ideas on teaching methods because it is a practical application of his philosophy. This work will be more important than the previous project because noone has yet translated this text into English. And by analyzing a portion of this text, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of his ideas on methodology.
